Ampe is a fun traditional sporting activity in  Ghana which brings girls together for a lively game of clapping, jumping, and counting. The game is mostly played by children but then, some adults also enjoy it. While the exact origin remains unclear, Ampe is widely recognized as originating in Ghana. However, African neighbouring countries also enjoy this activity  How Ampe is played This energetic game requires no equipment, making it perfect for impromptu play sessions. Here's how it goes: Players: Two or more players can join the fun. The Challenge: One player starts as the leader, with others forming a circle or a line.  Jump and Clap: The leader jumps up, claps their hands, and thrusts one leg forward simultaneously. Matching or Mismatch : The other players do the same. If a player thrusts the same leg forward as the leader, the leader scores a point. If their legs differ, the player who didn't match becomes the new leader and challenges the remaining players. K...

Former Ghana Premier League Top Scorer Hans Kwofie Dies in Tragic Car Accident .

Medeama SC has announced with deep sorrow the sudden passing of their former striker, Hans Kwofie, following a fatal car accident on Friday, June 21, 2024. The accident occurred at Dadwen in the Ashanti Region as the 35-year-old was traveling to his hometown, Dompim Pepesa. Hans Kwofie, a prolific striker, rose to prominence in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season, where he claimed the title of goal king by netting 17 goals for Ashanti Gold. His impressive career in the Ghana league saw him don the jerseys of Nsoatre Manchester United, Heart of Lions, Bechem United, Legon Cities, and Medeama. Over his career, Kwofie played for fourteen clubs, showcasing his talent both domestically and internationally. His most recent stint was with Birgunj United FC in Nepal. The football community mourns the loss of a remarkable player whose contributions to the sport will not be forgotten.
